SENIOR FASHION DESIGNER

Growing fashion brand Ydence is looking for an experienced Senior Fashion Designer to strengthen our design team in Zaandam!

With an enthusiastic team, Ydence designs its own trendy womenswear collections, which are sold at hundreds of retailers across Europe and through our own webshop.

Do you breathe fashion, are you always up to date with the latest trends, and do you know better than anyone which trends are commercially interesting? Can you translate these into innovative, wearable items that our customers really want? In addition, do you have an exceptionally strong sense of color and can you independently put together a complete collection?

Then we are looking for you!

What will you do?

As a Senior Fashion Designer, you will have a lot of creative responsibility within the design team. You are able to build a collection independently and oversee the creative process from concept to sampling.

Your tasks include, among others:

* Independently developing and building complete womenswear collections;
* Continuously tracking and analyzing trends and translating them into wearable and commercial items;
* Developing mood boards, trend analyses, and strong, distinctive color palettes;
* Developing strong silhouettes, prints, colors, and key pieces that feel innovative while fitting our target audience;
* Monitoring collection planning, deadlines, cohesion, and the Ydence DNA;
* Collaborating with Sales, Marketing & Content to merge commercial insights with the creative collection concept.

What do you bring to the table?

* You breathe fashion and are continuously up to date with what is happening;
* You know which brands, influencers, catwalk and social media trends, and international developments are relevant;
* You know how to make trends wearable and sellable without losing their innovative character;
* You can independently put together a complete collection and think beyond individual items;
* You are exceptionally strong in color, concept, collection construction, and styling;
* You are structured and strong in planning and time management;
* You have a strong instinct for color, see surprising combinations, and can independently create color worlds that are innovative, recognizable, and commercial.

At Ydence, we work with intensive design weeks where we make great strides with a new collection in a short amount of time.

We are therefore looking for someone who gets energy from a creative pressure cooker: someone who can switch gears quickly, dares to make decisions, and continues to come up with strong creative ideas even when the pressure is high.

Job requirements

* Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or similar;
* At least 5 years of relevant experience in womenswear;
* Preferably experience within a commercial and trend-driven womenswear brand;
* Demonstrable experience with independently developing collections;
* Excellent command of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop;
* Technically strong in elaborating designs;
* A strong portfolio in which your collection building, trend awareness, commercial translation, and use of color are clearly visible;
* Strong affinity with Ydence and our target audience.
